May 6, 1949 – Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) took off on its first scheduled flight with 21 passengers about a DC-3 airplane, leaving San Diego, flying to Los Angeles-Burbank airport and on to the final destination, Oakland. Total flight time was about 3 hours. Flights are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Lindbergh Field. Flights in 1949 were advertised at $15.60 plus tax.
